The plot is still in an unwritten stage, but the overall theme of the land is that, several centuries ago, a horrible plague(disease) broke out across the land. Many people died in the epidemic, and including the royal family of the entire continent (most of them, at least) because the castle was in the north, closest to the mountains, where the plague first started, more dies in the north and the far south stayed in pretty well health (at least by comparison).

What was left of the royal family left to the south, and commenced to live on. Over countless years, the plague weakened yet not completely dead. People could once again live in the north, but the royal family no longer had power over the entire land. After the epidemic, the counties started to become whirled by the existence of no leader strong enough to make them survive, so the segmented counties broke off into there own ways, and new leaders opted to lead them to a better future.

More decades passed by, and four counties show the most strength: Fieare, encased in snow most of the year, and birth place of the epidemic (the plague needs a good name), it has healed from the disease since then, but it has yet retained its old ways. People here have almost lost faith in life, only shot back into life. Auquoro, dry in the northern parts, relatively fertile in the central parts, and too wet in the southern parts, the place that was least affected by the plaque. The Royal Family left Fieare for this place, and have since only been able to rule over it, and not the rest. Religious influence is a major part, and is has always been encouraged; especially because disease struck there less, it was believed God (possibly think of a different name for that) was on their religious side. Aerorea, a practical desert in the north, Tropical Forests the more south that is traveled; the temperature is usually always hot, humidity does change between south and north though. The people here try to think in terms of the way of the ancient times. Zapiroru, revolutionized itself shortly after the disease weakened. With the opening of the Quoleck Mines, much iron ore was harvested, and in turn of a new invention made (the cannon, or gun) (need cool names for those too). The county is pretty uniformly dry, yet there are some places with small forests and other stuff like that.

Putting things bluntly, the counties were at war with each other, and the decision about what happens is on the side of the members, because you are going to be the citizens and such.
